image gently Campaign Launches
The Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging urges all to image gently! This campaign is the Alliance's effort to communicate the opportunities for lowering radiation dose in the CT imaging of children.
The Alliance member organizations are The Society for Pediatric Radiology, American College of Radiology, American Society of Radiologic Technologists, American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the Academy of Radiology Research, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Osteopathic College of Radiology, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, American Roentgen Ray Society, Association of University Radiologists, Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, National Council on Radiation Protection, Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Computed Body Tomography and Magnetic Resonance and the the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound.

3/7/2008 Update:
Since the 1/22 launch of the campaign, the Image Gently Web site has received more than 30,000 visits, and more than 700 providers representing more than 500 facilities nationwide have taken the Image Gently pledge.
More than 3,700 providers have downloaded the protocols which aid physicians and facilities adjust their techniques to "image gently."
